Oh what a night it was on Saturday as we watched some of our talented young performers walk the red carpet as finalists at the British Soap Awards 2019 at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester!
British Soap Awards 2019
First up was Joe Warren-Plant who was nominated for ‘Best Young Actor’ for his role of Jacob Gallagher in Emmerdale. Joe has been playing the role for the past seven years and most recently has been the star of a huge dramatic grooming storyline involving his onscreen teacher and Dad’s partner.
The wonderfully talented Bethan Moore was up for the ‘Best Newcomer’ award for her part in popular BBC daytime drama ‘Doctors’. Bethan beat hundreds of hopefuls to secure the regular role of Izzie Torres last year.
The harrowing Hollyoaks grooming storyline starring our very own Aedan Duckworth was also up for ‘Best Storyline’ at the annual awards. The Channel 4 drama won ‘Best Soap’ at the awards so we got to see Aedan, along with another one of our young stars Ruby O’Donnell up on stage with their fellow cast members collecting the award.
